Says she was ‘sent to Independence Twp. To Vault’. From that I think it means Harvard Grove ‘processed’ her then sent her elsewhere. Not sure what ‘vault’ references but I think the location is likely Independence Township, Ohio. I can’t find any that list ‘vaults’ or her on findagrave.com . The county, city, and state have said they have no records relating to her death (probate or a death certificate).
Can anyone shed any light ? Or where she may have ended up?
Her husband was Abraham (sometimes listed as Mills) Miles born 1814 in NY. They married in Ohio 1835.
Harriet & Abraham last appear together on the 1850 census. Shortly thereafter, they started selling portions of their farm piece by piece at what the archivist told me were ‘fire sale’ prices at the time. The archivist said this likely indicated that some event within the family was the catalyst.
Harriet reappears in the 1880 census listed as a widow. I have no clue what became of Abraham. Their kids were buried with the families of their spouses. Harriet’s obituary just says her name, date of death, age, and last residence.
Have not been able to locate any solid info on either Harriet’s or Abraham’s families.
