i live in canada, originally from england.
my mother passed away recently in cheshire.
she left a will naming 2 executors, both who have passed away.
i am the only child, my moms will is very explicit, everything goes to me.
her crooked lawyer is now emailing me telling me i need to pay 540 pounds to obtain a grant of probate
my question is. do they legally require a grant of probate or is it just another way of stealing more money
anyone who knows the answer, it would be appreciated

the will was created by a lawyer in 1993, it is a legal document, who made the legal profession gods? these are the bozos who make up rules. just to charge more money…..no other reason as far as i can see…..this lawyer sold my family home for 75,000 pounds under its value, paid the real estate company 9,000 pounds to sell it….i have been quoted 3,000…….charged me 7,000 pounds for the privilege…..yes i think they are crooks
