I have inherited a house in early 2011 from a deceased relative, and have moved in as full time A-Level students with my partner without our parents. We are both 18, have no income other than our EMA which is £40 a week combined. I have just found out that I will have £10,000 after the probate goes through. Reading the income benefit eligibility categories, this suggests that I have a capital of over £6000 which, according to the criteria, means this will affect the amount I and my partner will receive. We have no other savings. Are we eligible for income support or any other benefits to pay the bills while we finish our A-levels??
